Here's the wolf geisha I have been working on for some friends. They ordered her back around christmas and are remarkably patient people!

She's around 10-12 inches high including the wooden geta base (authentic geta from Japan and never worn - thank you ebay). The head, paws and drum are polymer clay. The wig is a clay base covered in washi paper. I sculpted everything but her ears and her cheek fur and about half the drum. Hubby helped me out with those, especially getting the ends of the drum to match in size and shape. I did the painting, stringing, dressing, etc. The dress is yuzen washi paper. I finally managed to get my hands on a couple beautiful doll making books from Amazon Japan. The drawback is the more detailed book with patterns and whatnot also had virtually no visual step instructions, just patterns with everything else as text. I did some rehashing of the patterns to combine them with the techniques from the other book as well as the stuff I'd already learned previously. It worked pretty well.
The biggest difference here is the body shape and movement that was entirely lacking from the two mini cat geisha from last year.

Point of interest:
Since my friends are very into their music, one being an awesome vocalist even, she has music notes and/or bars appearing in her silver collar and kanzashi.

"Not only does she have a huge amount of incredibly cute (and so very diverse!) things, this is one of those sculpture pieces that simply knocks my socks off! I am actually lacking in words to describe how cool I think this figure is, and how shocked I am at the detail in the size!" Wolf Geisha by *ukonzukai I chose the wolf this time around as it was nice to see this animal portrayed in such a feminine way. (Suggested by `taeliac and Featured by `dedredhed)
